HOW WE OVERCAME, ORCHESTRATED OUTCOME:
The project consisted of converting a multiacre storm water management pond into an underground retention/detention system in the heart of the North campus which is home to two new dorms and the dining and event center. The project was land locked and an access road was built to be able to perform the work. The pond received watershed from more than 40 acres of onsite runoffs well as runoff from Duppy avenue. This presented a challenge for dewatering the pond both for grading and import of new materials. The pond was continuously being pumped out as well as bypassed with temporary pipe and diversion dyke in order to keep the water out and off of the new work areas. Being that we were land locked all of the materials were delivered to an off-site yard and then transported in a just in time fashion using special fabricated
