HOW WE OVERCAME, ORCHESTRATED OUTCOME:
Prior to mobilization we met with all the utility providers to verify that the services had been disconnected and to go over their internal records to identify the location of the current services and to identify any previous or abandoned lines. Once identified we developed a traffic control plan that diverted the traffic through an existing parking lot and we employed flagger services as well to ensure that we had proper traffic flow. We than used best digging practices to uncover the underground utilities to appropriately abandon them. Once abandoned we proceeded remove the fuel tanks and dispose of fuel in a responsible matter. During the demolition of the structures we used the “wet method” to control the dust. Once the job was complete we met with VDOT to have our road patch work inspected and our bond released.
